I’m really pleased with the finished piece, but like always thinking of the next one. I’ve a number of commissions to complete so will crack on with them. They should make an appearance at a London exhibition beginning 15th May. A number of new works should be on display. Laters. PxSent from Samsung Mobile on O2

John McGuinness

As I write this there is controversy over whether or not John is going to race in the North West 200 as his bike is 1200cc and the limit is 1000. I’m surprised at this as you would expect a manufacturer to know the m for a competition. This may exclude him from the TT. I was excited at the prospect of Norton racing again. I always associate the TT with Norton. There is even a bike named after the island. Lets hope it’s part of Nortons strategy to enter the wrong bike just to quickly produce the correct one at the last minute. Anyhow, here’s the portrait of John as it developed. The completed image will follow shortly.Sent from Samsung Mobile on O2

John McGuinness

After the spring equinox the weather really improved and I began thinking of biking, and the IoM TT. I’ve been threatening to draw some of the riders for a while, so I took the plunge as I had this great image of John McGuinness. As always the initial steps were about calibrating the colour palette and working out what colours to use. I know that this first drawing will be gone over and corrected at some stage. Then it’s a case of just cracking on with it.
